Nintendo to discontinue Mario Kart Tour mobile game
Nintendo has announced that its mobile game Mario Kart Tour will cease operations on September 30, 2026. Sales of the game's virtual currency have ended.

Nintendo has announced that its mobile racing game, Mario Kart Tour, will officially end its service on September 30, 2026. The game was launched on September 25, 2019, for iOS and Android devices.
The decision to conclude the game's operations comes after several years of service. Mario Kart Tour was jointly developed by Nintendo's Planning and Development Division and DeNA.
Sales of the in-game virtual currency, "Rubies," concluded on July 8, 2024. Players can continue to use their existing Rubies in various in-game shops and events until the service termination date. The "Gold Pass" paid subscription service will also see adjustments.
Players with active Gold Pass subscriptions will continue to receive its benefits free of charge until the service ends, excluding renewal bonuses. Those without an active subscription will gain free access to Gold Pass benefits after the start of the "Vacation Tour" event on August 5, 2024.
This move signals a potential shift in Nintendo's mobile gaming strategy as it re-evaluates its presence in the mobile market following the conclusion of this title.
