Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio has officially launched its new all-electric SUV, the ES8 Large Five-Seater, now available for purchase in China. The vehicle comes with a 900-volt high-voltage architecture and starts at a retail price of 382,800 yuan (approximately $53,000 USD) for a full purchase, or from 274,800 yuan for models with battery leasing.

The ES8 Large Five-Seater measures 5,280mm in length, 2,010mm in width, and 1,800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130mm. It is offered in four exterior color options and five interior themes. The cabin is designed for comfort, featuring dual "zero-gravity" front seats, resembling those in aircraft. These seats provide extensive adjustability, with up to 20 directions for the driver's seat, which includes 14 massage points, and 16 for the front passenger seat.

Second-row passengers also benefit from fully supportive "zero-gravity" seats that recline up to 138 degrees and include a 400mm leg rest extension. The vehicle offers significant cargo capacity, with a combined front and rear storage space of 1,564 liters, including a 230-liter front trunk and a 1,334-liter rear trunk. With the rear seats folded, the maximum cargo volume expands to 3,084 liters.

Mechanically, the ES8 Large Five-Seater leverages its 900V architecture, enabling a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and various terrain modes. It boasts a CLTC range of 655km with a 102kWh battery pack, a peak power output of 520kW, and 700 N·m of torque. The vehicle integrates Nio's new "Cedar Smart Cockpit" and other advanced features, including a 21.4-inch "Sky Screen" and an 8.8-liter electric mini-fridge.
