Automaker NIO announced it has reached a milestone of 500 battery swap stations in Guangdong Province, China. The achievement was marked by the simultaneous launch of six fifth-generation battery swap stations across six cities, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

To date, NIO's battery swap service in Guangdong has facilitated over 17 million swaps, accounting for approximately 13% of the national total. In the first eight months of 2026, NIO's sales in the Guangdong market saw a significant increase of 76.3% year-over-year.

Nationally, NIO has deployed a total of 9,584 power facilities, comprising 4,176 battery swap stations. Of these, 1,073 swap stations are located on major expressways, connecting over 550 cities across 9 vertical and 11 horizontal corridors, linking 16 major city clusters.

The expansion of NIO's battery swap network is part of its strategy to enhance charging convenience and support the adoption of electric vehicles. This network growth aims to address range anxiety and reduce downtime for EV owners.
