Nio Releases "Cedar S" System Version 1.6.0 Update
Nio has fully rolled out version 1.6.0 of its "Cedar S" intelligent system. The update introduces over 30 new features and upgrades across the smart cockpit, NOMI assistant, driving experience, and assisted driving capabilities.
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio announced the full rollout of its "Cedar S" intelligent system, version 1.6.0, on September 25. The update is now available for multiple Nio models, including the ES6, EC6, and ET5.
The new software version focuses on enhancing the user experience within the vehicle's smart cockpit, with improvements to the NOMI AI assistant, the overall driving experience, and advanced driver-assistance systems. The update comprises over 30 new features and functional upgrades.
Key enhancements include improvements to the central display interface, such as automatic desktop switching based on driving mode and simplified gesture controls. The Head-Up Display (HUD) gains a new minimalist mode for essential driving information, and can now display blind-spot camera feeds. Navigation features are also upgraded, with red light countdowns visible on the HUD and lane-specific information for toll stations.
Audio experience receives attention with new customizable "listening modes" and a guided setup for personalized sound profiles. The entertainment ecosystem sees updated dynamic display styles for music applications, and the NOMI assistant gains new interactive features. The EC6 model specifically benefits from a new "Race Track Mode," offering performance-oriented adjustments for suspension, steering, and cooling systems, along with dedicated track displays.
