NIO Reports Record Battery Swaps on October 1st
Electric vehicle manufacturer NIO announced a new daily record of 33,341 battery swaps on October 1st. The company also reported an 88.22% year-over-year increase in total swaps during the National Day holiday period.
Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO announced new usage records for its battery swap stations on October 9th. On October 1st, the company recorded 33,341 battery swaps, setting a new daily high. This represents an 88.22% increase compared to the same period last year.
During the record day on October 1st, battery swaps for NIO and its LeDo brand vehicles occurred at an average rate of one every 0.47 seconds. Between September 25th and October 7th, a total of 296,157 swaps were performed.
NIO's infrastructure, which is also utilized by the LeDo brand, comprises over 9,500 charging and swapping stations, representing an investment exceeding 2 billion yuan. LeDo users collectively drove over 255 million kilometers during the holiday period, with 86,179 users opting for cross-provincial journeys.
The company is expanding its infrastructure, having established 92 scenic routes featuring swap stations. By 2026, NIO aims to complete 100 such themed routes. As of October 9th, NIO operated a total of 9,567 charging and swapping stations nationwide, including 4,168 dedicated battery swap stations. The company has provided over 127 million battery swap services to date.
