Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio has announced the upcoming release of the first model in its "halo" series on July 20, with a launch event scheduled in Shanghai.
The "halo" car is anticipated to feature a design that interacts with light, including a body finish that shifts with light and a softly illuminated logo. Nio has stated the new model will possess "unique design," "refined materials," and "complete details," promising an experience that is "difficult to measure by parameters but can be perceived long-term." Further specific details about the vehicle's capabilities have not yet been disclosed.
The "Firefly" brand, under which the "halo" model will be launched, recently surpassed 70,000 cumulative deliveries. The current Firefly model, which received an update in April 2025, is priced between 119,800 and 125,800 yuan for outright purchase, with BaaS (Battery as a Service) options ranging from 79,800 to 85,800 yuan.
Existing Firefly models are equipped with a 13.2-inch central display and a 6-inch digital instrument cluster.
