Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO announced that the average selling price for its vehicles reached 443,000 yuan in June, surpassing premium brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer NIO reported that the average selling price for its vehicles hit 443,000 yuan in June. This figure places NIO's average transaction price above those of established luxury brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi (BBA).
The company stated that in May, NIO surpassed BBA brands in sales volume across 48 cities in China. During that same month, the average price for NIO vehicles was 382,200 yuan, indicating a consistent premium positioning.
NIO founder and CEO William Li commented that the company's success extends beyond sales volume, highlighting the achievement of exceeding competitors in average vehicle price.
Li also noted that over 68% of NIO ES8 buyers were previously owners of vehicles from BBA brands or other luxury marques, suggesting a successful draw of premium consumers to the NIO brand.
