The first intrusion was detected on September 26, impacting 41 members. A subsequent, distinct attack was confirmed on September 29, exposing the data of an additional 55 members. The leaked information includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, login IDs, rental usage history, and reservation details.
Nippon Rent-A-Car stated that it is contacting all affected customers individually via their registered email addresses. The company advised members to be vigilant against potential phishing attempts that may exploit the compromised information.
