Nissan unveils 2027 Rogue hybrid with e-Power technology
Nissan has introduced a 2027 Rogue SUV model featuring a series hybrid powertrain designed to charge the battery without direct mechanical connection to the wheels.

Nissan is updating its Rogue SUV lineup with a new hybrid configuration utilizing the company's e-Power technology. Unlike standard parallel hybrids that use both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor to power the wheels, this model operates as a series hybrid. The vehicle features a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged engine that acts strictly as a generator to power the traction battery.
By decoupling the internal combustion engine from the vehicle's transmission, the system eliminates the mechanical load variability typically faced by engines in traditional vehicles. This setup allows the engine to run at optimized speeds, achieving a claimed 42 percent thermal efficiency. This configuration seeks to provide drivers with the torque and smoothness of an electric vehicle without requiring plug-in infrastructure.
The 2027 Rogue Hybrid represents a shift in Nissan's strategy to address demand for electrified vehicles that function without the constraints of charging times. The model is expected to compete with current market leaders in the crossover SUV segment.
