Niutech develops technology for titan-iron mine waste recovery
Chinese company Niutech has developed a new technology and facility to recover resources from titan-iron mine waste. A national evaluation has deemed the technology "internationally advanced."

Niutech, a supplier of industrial continuous pyrolysis technology, has announced the development of its new "next-generation titan-iron mine waste reduction and beneficiation technology and equipment." A national expert institution has evaluated the technology, classifying it as "internationally advanced."
A demonstration project with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, utilizing this technology for the recovery of titan-rich materials from waste rock, is currently under construction in Linyi, Shandong Province. Upon completion, it is projected to be Asia's leading demonstration project for eco-friendly strategic mineral resource recovery.
The technology employs plastic waste and other organic waste as reducing agents. Through low-temperature pyrolysis, it generates a reducing gas that enables in-situ reduction of the mine waste within a single integrated system. This approach combines solid waste treatment, ore beneficiation, and energy cycling.
Key advantages include continuous low-temperature reduction below 700°C, significantly lower than traditional smelting processes. It also boasts high energy efficiency with over 93% waste heat recovery, leading to reduced energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions. Intelligent control systems are integrated for continuous and stable operation.
