Niutech targets mineral recovery with new tailings technology
Niutech has developed new technology and equipment to recover strategic minerals from titanium-iron tailings. A national assessment declared the achievement "internationally advanced."

Chinese company Niutech, specializing in industrial continuous pyrolysis technology, has announced the completion of its new-generation technology and equipment designed for the recovery of titanium-iron from low-grade complex tailings. A national-level professional institution has evaluated the achievement, classifying it as "internationally advanced."
A 300,000-ton-per-year demonstration project utilizing this technology is currently under construction in Linyi, Shandong Province. Once operational, it is expected to become Asia's leading demonstration project for the green recovery of strategic mineral resources.
The new equipment, a key strategic initiative for Niutech in comprehensive mineral resource utilization, is built on principles of safety, environmental protection, low carbon emissions, and high efficiency. It incorporates the company's latest "low-temperature pyrolysis–in-situ reduction" synergistic technology.
This process uses waste plastics or other organic waste as a reducing agent. Low-temperature pyrolysis generates a reducing gas that facilitates in-situ reduction of tailings within a single integrated system. This approach combines solid waste treatment, tailings enrichment, and energy circulation, challenging the necessity of high temperatures for efficient reduction.
