Nokia and Ericsson Deepen Cooperation for Autonomous Networks
Nokia and Ericsson announced a collaboration to advance open standards and enhance compatibility across their rApp portfolios, aiming to accelerate the transition to Autonomous Networks.

Espoo, Finland & Stockholm, Sweden – Nokia and Ericsson have entered into a significant collaboration intended to accelerate intelligent automation in mobile networks.
The partnership will see Ericsson join Nokia's SMO Marketplace, a platform designed to support multivendor ecosystems within network automation. Concurrently, Nokia will become a member of Ericsson's rApp Ecosystem, built around the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform. Both companies aim to expedite the industry's move towards autonomous networks, reducing manual intervention in management and optimization.
This cooperation specifically focuses on promoting the adoption of open standards and ensuring compatibility between the companies' respective rApp application portfolios. The goal is to provide communication service providers (CSPs) with greater choice and flexibility as they transition to autonomous networks, enabling faster deployment of new capabilities and more precise network optimization.
The initiative is expected to speed the integration of artificial intelligence and automation into mobile networks. This collaboration is anticipated to streamline workflows for deployment, optimization, and network operations, which is crucial for operators aiming to achieve higher levels of network autonomy.
