Nokia and Google Cloud integrate AI agents into network products
Nokia Oyj announced an expansion of its partnership with Google Cloud, embedding AI agents built with Google's Gemini models into its Autonomous Network product suite.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia Oyj has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud, announcing the integration of new AI agents into its Autonomous Network product suite. These agents, powered by Google's Gemini family of models, are designed to accelerate network automation and issue resolution for telecommunication providers.
The new capabilities involve integrating six specialized AI agents into Nokia's Assurance Center software. The aim is to help telecom providers reduce operational costs and shorten the duration of network disruptions. The AI agents will analyze vast amounts of network data, distinguishing critical issues from background noise to enable faster repairs and mitigate revenue loss.
According to Nokia, this development addresses the increasing complexity and data volumes generated by modern networks. Traditional, manual troubleshooting methods are struggling to keep pace with escalating alert volumes, potentially leading to costly downtime.
"The AI era demands a new kind of network—one that is programmable, AI-native, and able to operate at machine speed," said Vivek Jaiswal, senior vice president, Autonomous Networks at Nokia, in a statement. "With Gemini-powered agents integrated into Nokia's automation portfolio, we're helping telecom providers move beyond manual operations to maximize performance and efficiency."
The system includes multiple agents, such as a router agent for orchestration, an event triage agent for fault analysis, and an action reasoner agent for recommending remediation steps. These agents can operate independently or collaboratively to address complex network management tasks. Nokia developed the solution using Google Cloud's Agent Development Kit (ADK), and it runs on Google Cloud's infrastructure.
