Nokia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison enhance Indonesia's 5G network
Nokia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) have partnered to upgrade IOH's nationwide mobile network with 5G RAN technology. The collaboration aims to boost network performance, expand coverage, and enable new AI-driven services across Indonesia.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia Oyj and Indonesian telecommunications operator Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) announced a partnership to modernize IOH's nationwide mobile network and enable new AI-enabled services.
The collaboration focuses on deploying Nokia's 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies across low- and mid-band spectrum nationwide. This upgrade is intended to enhance network performance, reliability, and responsiveness, providing customers with improved digital experiences.
The initiative aims to meet Indonesia's growing digital demands and promote broader digital inclusion. The upgraded network will also support the development of advanced consumer and enterprise services in sectors such as public services, industry, and digital solutions.
The partnership involves collaboration with NVIDIA to implement an AI-ready 5G network architecture and AI Grid platform. Field trials are expected by the end of 2026, supporting the development of new AI algorithms to enhance network spectral efficiency.
Indosat stated that the investment in an AI-ready network will drive local innovation and enable new applications in areas like government services, healthcare, education, and agriculture, supporting Indonesia's next phase of digital growth.
