Nokia and Operators Accelerate AI-Native Network Adoption
Nokia announced growing global momentum for AI-RAN, with several global operators advancing from AI-native network evaluations to live trials using Nokia's platform.

Nokia Oyj announced significant global progress in the adoption of AI-assisted radio access networks (AI-RAN). Multiple international telecommunications operators, including A1 Group, Chunghwa Telecom, du, e&, Mobily, stc, TPG Telecom, and Zain Saudi, are progressing from AI-native network evaluations to laboratory and live field trials utilizing platforms from Nokia and NVIDIA.
The operator engagement spans North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. This broad commitment signifies a growing industry trend towards "AI-native" networks, which are considered crucial for future 5G and 6G network technologies.
Nokia's AI-RAN platform has already achieved over 20% improvement in spectral efficiency through AI-powered radio innovations. The company has also launched its first commercial "AI-native" RAN platform and is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA. These efforts are transforming radio networks into programmable platforms supporting both connectivity and AI workloads.
According to Nokia, increasing demands from AI applications and changing traffic patterns are driving operators to seek new ways to enhance network capacity and efficiency. The company's platform combines Nokia's anyRAN software with NVIDIA's Aerial RAN Computer, enabling a software-defined architecture for 5G and laying the foundation for future AI-native networks.
