Nokia and TDC NET upgrade fiber network across Denmark
TDC NET has selected Nokia to connect over one million homes and businesses in Denmark to its ultra-broadband network using XGS-PON technology.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia announced in October 2021 that it has been selected by TDC NET to upgrade Denmark's fiber network. The collaboration aims to connect over one million homes and businesses with new XGS-PON technology, enabling symmetrical gigabit speeds.
The network upgrade, which began in Copenhagen, Odense, Aarhus, and Aalborg, positions TDC NET as a provider of ultra-broadband services. As Denmark's leading digital infrastructure partner, TDC NET operates an open network utilized by service providers to offer broadband to their end customers.
The deployment is designed to meet the increasing demand for higher speeds from both residential and enterprise clients. TDC NET plans to streamline service delivery and enhance revenue through this converged network strategy, targeting coverage for approximately one million homes.
Nokia's ISAM FX access nodes, featuring the Quillion chipset, are central to this deployment, offering high capacity and low latency. The company stated this technology is crucial for 5G transport and can be upgraded for future 25 Gb/second systems.
