Nokia and TIM Brasil Expand 5G Network Partnership
Nokia and TIM Brasil are expanding their partnership to upgrade the 5G network across 14 Brazilian states. The upgrade aims to enhance network performance and prepare it for future AI-driven services.
Espoo, Finland – Nokia Oyj has expanded its partnership with TIM Brasil to enhance the country's 5G network performance and prepare it for future AI-driven services.
The expanded agreement will see network modernization across 14 Brazilian states, extending a previous project in São Paulo and covering approximately 42% of the country's population. The upgrade aims to improve network efficiency, enhance user experience, and reduce energy consumption. It also prepares TIM Brasil's infrastructure for future AI solutions, particularly for the enterprise sector.
Nokia will supply TIM Brasil with its latest technology, including energy-efficient AirScale base stations, Habrok Massive MIMO radios, and Pandion Remote Radio Head solutions. Deployment, optimization, and support services are also included. The company will implement Nokia MantaRay SON, a solution designed to automate network management and improve its quality.
TIM Brasil CEO Alberto Griselli emphasized that the upgrade will raise the standard for 5G services in Brazil. "This means a better experience for millions of customers and greater value for companies with solutions that increase productivity," Griselli stated. Nokia and TIM Brasil are building a sustainable, software-driven infrastructure to support new enterprise use cases and Brazil's next phase of AI-powered growth.
