Nokia expands AI-driven radio and network infrastructure partnerships

Nokia is partnering with operators and Nvidia to deploy AI-RAN technology and enhance network efficiency through distributed intelligence.

3 November 2026

Nokia has entered a series of strategic collaborations with Nvidia and major global telecommunications operators to advance AI-Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) technology. These projects focus on transforming traditional radio networks into distributed intelligence platforms capable of improving wireless performance and automating network operations.

BT is preparing to transition its AI-RAN efforts from laboratory testing to live deployment on its EE mobile network in the UK, while Finland’s Elisa is set to validate the benefits of the technology in a commercial environment by 2027. Deutsche Telekom is also conducting performance tests to measure the impact of AI-integrated radio solutions on network traffic.

In addition to radio initiatives, Nokia is deploying AI to accelerate its internal engineering processes, utilizing Cadence’s AI Super Agents and Nvidia’s supercomputing infrastructure to shorten system design cycles. The company is simultaneously working on infrastructure upgrades with partners like Vodafone and Orange Belgium, focusing on extending the lifespan and capacity of existing fiber broadband networks through advanced automation.
