Nokia introduces live testing platform for core network innovation
Nokia has opened its Mobile Core Early Access program to global operators, providing a live environment to evaluate 5G and AI-driven network technologies.

Nokia has launched Mobile Core Early Access, a hosted testing environment designed to allow telecommunications operators and enterprises to evaluate core network capabilities in a live setting. The platform aims to bridge the gap between initial technology awareness and deployment by providing hands-on access to network functions, automation, and AI-native applications.
The initiative provides an end-to-end framework where users can test how new software performs alongside radio equipment and mobile devices. Following a pilot phase that began in June with 30 participants, the program is now accessible to the broader industry. Nokia stated the goal is to provide a practical venue for stakeholders to assess operational requirements and business cases without the need for immediate hardware investment.
Industry analysts note that this approach addresses a recurring challenge in the telecommunications sector: the need to mitigate risk when transitioning to complex, software-defined network architectures. By allowing operators to observe real-world performance, the platform aims to increase confidence in long-term infrastructure planning.
Beyond the base access, Nokia provides paid options for organizations that require more extensive integration or custom environments for advanced validation purposes.
