Nokia Launches New Massive MIMO Radios
Nokia Oyj has introduced its latest generation of AirScale 5G massive MIMO radios, named Habrok, designed to enhance performance and energy efficiency. The new radios support broad spectrum capabilities and feature a lighter, more easily deployable design.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia Oyj announced at Mobile World Congress 2023 the global launch of Habrok, its newest generation of AirScale 5G massive MIMO radios. Powered by Nokia's latest ReefShark System-on-Chip (SoC), these radios aim to improve performance and energy efficiency for mobile operators and enterprises.
The Habrok series includes 32 TRX and 64 TRX versions, catering to all massive MIMO use cases and deployment scenarios. The Habrok 64 weighs only 24 kg, making it approximately 30 percent lighter than previous generations, facilitating faster and easier installation. The new radios also offer higher output power for increased coverage and consume up to 30 percent less energy, reducing operational costs.
Initially supporting band n78, the products feature 200 MHz occupied bandwidth (OBW) and 400 MHz instantaneous bandwidth (IBW), enabling the use of fragmented spectrum allocations and network sharing. Nokia is also expanding its AirScale Osprey portfolio with new dual-band mMIMO radios and multiband remote radio heads (RRHs) designed to simplify site solutions and lower total cost of ownership.
Nokia also highlighted significant advancements in energy efficiency across its entire RAN portfolio, achieving energy savings of up to 30 percent through a combination of software, hardware, and services. The company is further launching new digital services to support the network lifecycle, including analytics tools and AI-powered support services to expedite issue resolution.
