Nokia to Showcase Optical Innovations for AI Era at ECOC 2026
Nokia will present optical networking solutions at ECOC 2026 in Málaga (Sept. 20-24), addressing increased bandwidth and efficiency demands driven by AI.

Nokia will showcase its optical innovations designed to meet the demands of the artificial intelligence (AI) era at ECOC 2026, taking place in Málaga, Spain, from September 20-24. The event will focus on the escalating needs for bandwidth and efficiency in AI data centers and long-haul transport networks.
Nokia's demonstrations will highlight new technologies such as 1.6T LPO modules and upcoming 448G-per-lane transmission technology. These advancements aim to improve intra-data center connectivity while reducing power consumption and costs. The company will also feature progress in coherent optics and the development of hybrid solutions, including silicon-based and lithium niobate-based optical front-ends.
At the event, Nokia will also demonstrate solutions for data center interconnect and scalable networking, including IPoDWDM technology and thin transponders. These technologies enable increased capacity across metro, regional, long-haul, and subsea networks, while simultaneously decreasing power consumption and space requirements.
Furthermore, Nokia will introduce AI-powered network operations tools designed to optimize network performance, reduce energy usage, and accelerate root-cause analysis. Company experts will also participate in technical sessions discussing future optical components, data center connectivity, and network solution deployments.
