Nonalcoholic Drink Maker Hoplark Files for Bankruptcy

Hoplark, a Colorado-based maker of nonalcoholic hop waters and sparkling teas, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The petition was submitted on August 28, 2026.

The bankruptcy filing lists approximately $2.07 million in assets against roughly $5.9 million in liabilities. Key creditors include Brooklyn Brewery, with over $1.1 million in secured debt, and 74 unsecured creditors owed more than $4.68 million.

The company previously experienced significant revenue. In 2023, Hoplark reported approximately $9.3 million in revenue. However, by the end of its fiscal year 2025, revenue had dropped to about $630,000. This decline occurred despite the growing market for nonalcoholic beverages.

Hoplark, founded in 2018 by Dean Eberhardt and Andrew Markley, raised over $25 million in funding. The brand was marketed with a "triple zero" promise: no alcohol, no calories, and no sugar. In 2023, Brooklyn Brewery acquired a minority stake and became the company's distribution partner. However, high distribution costs, limited shelf space, and weak retail demand ultimately proved insurmountable.
