NORD Celebrates 40 Years of Operations in Austria
NORD's Austrian branch in Linz is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Established in 1985, the facility has grown into a key distribution hub for Southern and Eastern Europe.

Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG is marking the 40th anniversary of its Austrian subsidiary, located in Linz. Since its establishment in October 1985, the branch has expanded its role, becoming a significant distribution center for subsidiaries across Southern and Eastern Europe.
The Linz facility was initially created to solidify NORD's presence in Austria and serve as a distribution point for operations in Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The site also includes an assembly line for drive technology. Due to increased demand, the operations relocated to a larger facility in Südpark in 2000, offering improved transport links.
Currently, the Linz plant assembles approximately 7,850 drive units annually within its 1,480 square meter production area, supported by 500 square meters of office space. Recent years have seen a focus on expanding the service department, enhancing digitalization in both back-office and production processes, and modernizing workspaces. Investments in green technologies, such as a photovoltaic system, are also underway.
Managing Director Peter Gatringer stated that the current priority is strengthening the site and increasing market share within Austria. A celebration for the 30 employees and their families is planned for autumn, with invitations also extended to employees from subsidiary companies and international partners.
