German manufacturer Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG is supplying enhanced drive technology to Swiss Can Machinery, a producer of automated packaging systems for powders and dry goods. The motors and frequency inverters provided feature smooth surfaces to facilitate machine cleaning within the stringent hygiene requirements of the food industry.
Swiss Can Machinery, which has established itself as a leading manufacturer in just five years, utilizes NORD's IE4 efficiency class geared motors and NORDAC BASE SK 180E frequency inverters for its conveyor systems. These units are specifically designed to meet the demanding hygiene standards of the food sector.
The NORD drive technology incorporates smooth, easily cleanable aluminum housings with flowing transitions between surfaces. This design allows cleaning agents and foam to wash off easily, reducing cleaning times and protecting the motors.
Furthermore, the motors are fanless, which helps to prevent the spread of germs. With an IP66 protection rating, they are protected against dust, contact, and strong water jets from any direction. The energy-efficient IE4 motors ensure high operational efficiency and lower running costs.
