NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Enables Virtual Commissioning with Digital Twins
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS now allows customers to order custom-configured drive systems as simulation models. These digital twins accelerate projects by reducing errors and shortening commissioning times.
Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG has introduced a new service enabling customers to order individually configured drive systems as digital twins. This technology allows for virtual commissioning early in the planning phase, significantly reducing project lead times and minimizing errors.
Customers can configure drive systems or components via the myNORD customer portal and subsequently request a simulation model. These digital twins facilitate extensive testing within a simulated environment, enabling potential errors to be corrected at an early developmental stage. Manufacturing commences only after customer approval.
Benefits of virtual commissioning include fewer errors, faster availability, and reduced actual commissioning time. Upon delivery, the drives are already functionally integrated into the system control. The entire process, from configuration to commissioning, is accelerated from several months to a few weeks.
The service is launching with NORD's high-efficiency IE5+ and IE4 motors, along with corresponding gear units and frequency inverters. Simulation models will gradually become available for other product areas.
