NORD DRIVESYSTEMS opens new plant in Texas

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has opened a new manufacturing facility in McKinney, Texas, with the official inauguration taking place at the end of May. The 7,900 square meter site represents NORD's fourth US location and aims to strengthen its regional presence.

The McKinney plant is equipped for assembly, service, and customer experience activities. Production of unfinished gear units began in June 2023, and the final construction phase included the addition of a paint shop, which is capable of applying various surface treatments to up to 200 units per shift.

The opening ceremony was attended by NORD's management from its headquarters in Bargteheide, Germany, alongside industry association representatives, customers, suppliers, and local politicians. Company representatives stated the new plant will help meet customer demand with shorter delivery times and expressed an intention to build a strong relationship with the McKinney community.

This expansion brings NORD's US operational footprint to four key regions. The company previously established locations in Waunakee, Wisconsin (North), Charlotte, North Carolina (East), and Corona, California (West). The McKinney facility is intended to provide localized support and enhance delivery capabilities to customers across the southern United States.
