NORD Drivesystems recognized with MHEA sustainability award

NORD Drivesystems has received the Sustainability Award from the Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) for its ECO service. The service aims to optimize the energy performance of industrial drive systems by analyzing actual operating conditions.

The core of the service involves using a mobile measurement unit, the ECO BOX, to collect performance data such as voltage, current, and load profiles over a period of at least two weeks. This data-driven approach allows for the identification of inefficiencies, load anomalies, and potential energy savings. Following the analysis, NORD proposes tailored hardware upgrades, such as higher-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motors, to match the specific requirements of the application.

By downsizing or re-specifying components to align with actual operational demand, users can achieve significant lifecycle cost savings and lower CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the service facilitates the reduction of system variants, which simplifies maintenance, inventory management, and logistics for industrial operators. Post-implementation verification measurements are used to quantify the specific gains in efficiency.
