NORD DRIVESYSTEMS supplies drive systems for Lindbäcks Bygg's housing module factory

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is supplying drive and control devices to the Swedish housing company Lindbäcks Bygg's new factory in Piteå. The company aims to triple its housing module production capacity within the same timeframe through enhanced automation.

The facility manufactures 40 square meters of housing modules every half hour, translating to an annual output of 1,600 apartments. The production hall spans 31,000 square meters. Conveyor systems, machines, and assembly lines are equipped with numerous geared motors and frequency inverters, with nearly 70 percent sourced from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS.

"We are very satisfied with the drive systems' quality," stated Mats Riekkola, head of operational reliability at Lindbäcks Bygg. He noted that the high quality of NORD DRIVESYSTEMS products is a key reason for collaboration with many machine manufacturers.

The transport systems, designed for moving materials over long distances, prioritize functionality and low operating costs. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS utilizes energy-efficient motors with low-loss gear units and drive electronics featuring energy-saving functions. An internal material supply train enhances operational safety by reducing truck traffic within the factory.
