NORD Expands Frequency Inverter Power Range

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has expanded the power range of its NORDAC PRO SK 500P frequency inverters, now covering 0.25–37 kilowatts for the entire control cabinet series. The company is also preparing variants up to 160 kW.

The expanded inverters feature an integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface, allowing for easy compatibility and integration into Ethernet-based control systems. The units support protocols including PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and POWERLINK, with additional protocols available depending on the model. A USB interface enables parameter setting without voltage.

On-board PLC functionality within the inverters reduces the load on higher-level controls for drive-related tasks. The POSICON positioning function handles various positioning requirements, supporting relative or absolute positioning with both incremental and absolute encoders. Parameter set switching allows for sequential positioning of up to four axes.

The extended NORDAC PRO SK 500P control cabinet series is suitable for a range of industry-specific drive applications. The inverters, boasting over 200% overload reserves, are appropriate for controlling geared motors in heavy-duty applications or lifting systems. The PI controller and integrated compensator control are ideal for pump and winding systems. The frequency inverters allow direct side-by-side installation, saving cabinet space.
