NORD introduces new industrial gear unit series for belt conveyors
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has launched the MAXXDRIVE® XT series of industrial gear units, designed for belt conveyor applications needing high thermal capacity. The units do not require external cooling.

German manufacturer Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG has introduced its new MAXXDRIVE® XT series of industrial gear units, targeting applications with high thermal limit powers, particularly for belt conveyors. The new units are developed to meet the demanding conditions of the bulk material and mineral industries.
The MAXXDRIVE® XT gear units are engineered to manage high thermal loads without the need for external cooling systems, simplifying installation and reducing maintenance requirements. This feature makes them suitable for systems combining low speed ratios with high power outputs, common in bulk and mineral handling equipment operating in harsh environments.
The series consists of seven sizes, covering a power range from 50 to 1,500 kW. Output torques range between 15 and 75 kNm, with speed ratios from 6.3 to 22.4. The gear units feature a heavily ribbed UNICASE housing and an integrated axial fan, which optimize cooling and increase the load capacity and service life of the components.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS received the Bulk Handling Award in the "Excellence in the Application of Gears, Motors and Drives" category in 2019 for this concept.
