The company has focused on developing solutions that enhance energy efficiency and reduce the number of drive system variants used, aiming to lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
According to NORD, airport baggage handling, encompassing check-in, sorting, and high-speed transport, requires intelligent and reliable drive technologies. The company's new IE5+ motor generation, based on permanent magnet synchronous motors, offers significantly lower losses and higher efficiency compared to previous generations. This allows for the use of a single gearbox and frequency inverter size across various speed and load ranges, reducing the need for stocking multiple variants.
The company emphasizes that the combination of IE5+ motors and frequency inverters allows for optimized performance and reduced operational costs. Additionally, NORD is introducing its NORD DuoDrive, an integrated geared motor where the gearbox and motor are fully combined.
