NORD Opens New Factory in Texas
Drive and gear technology supplier NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has opened a new 7,900 square meter factory in McKinney, Texas. The facility is the company's fourth in the USA and aims to enhance service in the southern region.

Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG, a provider of drive and gear technology, has inaugurated a new production facility in McKinney, Texas. The 7,900 square meter site represents NORD's fourth US location and is intended to improve delivery times and customer service in the southern United States, according to Torsten Schultz, president of NORD USA.
The factory, with construction starting in June 2023, will offer pre-sales, warehousing, assembly, and aftermarket services. Following the completion of the first phase, the manufacturing of unpainted gear units began. The final construction phase integrated a painting system for various surface treatments, allowing the plant to produce up to 200 units per shift.
Attendees at the opening ceremony included NORD Managing Directors Ullrich Küchenmeister and Gernot Zarp from the headquarters in Bargteheide, alongside industry association representatives, customers, suppliers, and politicians, including Congressman Keith Self. An accompanying open house event allowed guests to tour the facility and learn about NORD's drive solutions and customer proximity services.
With the addition of the McKinney plant, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS now operates from four regions in the USA: Waunakee, Wisconsin (North); Charlotte, North Carolina (East); Corona, California (West); and McKinney, Texas (South). This expansion supports the company's objective to maintain close relationships with its customers and provide efficient service.
