NORD South Korea Celebrates 10th Anniversary

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is celebrating a decade of operations in South Korea, having established its presence in 2012 to supply drive solutions to the country's chemical and transportation sectors.

The company's subsidiary is located in the Banwol Industrial Complex in Ansan, near the capital Seoul. Since relocating in 2017 to a larger facility, the operation now spans 3,000 square meters, accommodating offices, service, and assembly departments. The South Korean entity is part of the NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Group's global network of 36 subsidiaries.

Key products for the South Korean market include bevel geared motors and parallel shaft geared motors, with growing business in industrial gear units and frequency inverters. "We primarily supply the intralogistics, petrochemistry, steel production, and water treatment industries," stated Managing Director Dong-Wook Kim, who has led NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Co., Ltd. Korea since its inception.

Approximately 4,000 geared motors are manufactured annually at the Ansan facility. The company anticipates further capacity expansion due to increasing demand, with management expressing optimism about future growth based on their understanding of local market needs and ability to provide tailored solutions.
