NORD supplies replacement gear unit to Fine Lady Bakeries
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS rapidly supplied a replacement gear unit with a specially designed shaft to Fine Lady Bakeries in the UK following an equipment failure, ensuring production continuity.
BARGTHEIDE, Germany – NORD DRIVESYSTEMS provided a critical gear unit replacement to British bakery producer Fine Lady Bakeries under emergency conditions, quickly restoring production.
The bakery required a swift replacement for a failed gear unit in its proofing cabinet. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS took precise measurements of the original competitor unit, which was no longer available, to ensure the replacement matched critical dimensions and torque requirements. A MAXXDRIVE industrial gear unit, size 8, with a rated torque of 31,000 Nm and a thrust load capacity of 140,000 N was selected for the heavy-duty application.
While custom gear units can typically have lead times of up to 16 weeks, and units with special shafts usually around 12 weeks, NORD managed to reduce the delivery period for Fine Lady Bakeries to under six weeks. This involved designing and manufacturing a specific shaft at NORD's headquarters in Germany.
Following minor adjustments to the existing mounting framework, the new drive system is now operational. The MAXXDRIVE series is designed for demanding industrial applications, offering high output torques and extended service life.
