Nordea Announces Group Leadership Team Changes, Merges Risk and Compliance
Nordea Bank Abp has announced changes to its Group Leadership Team, including new appointments in Personal Banking and Business Banking, and the merger of Group Risk and Group Compliance functions.

Helsinki – Nordea Bank Abp revealed on Tuesday, August 19, 2026, significant shifts within its Group Leadership Team. Per Långsved, formerly Head of Nordea Life & Pension, will assume the role of Head of Personal Banking and join the Group Leadership Team effective November 1, 2026. He succeeds Sara Mella, who is stepping down from operational duties to pursue the next phase of her career. Långsved joined Nordea in 2019.
The bank stated the changes aim to deepen customer relationships and enhance digital experiences within Personal Banking. President and Group CEO Frank Vang-Jensen commented that Långsved "has a strong track record of driving growth by combining customer centricity, collaboration and engaging leadership." He also thanked Mella for her seven years of contributions to the bank's development and digital capabilities.
Randi Marjamaa, current Head of Personal Banking Norway, has been appointed Deputy Head of Business Banking and will become a member of the Group Leadership Team by January 1, 2027, at the latest. Marjamaa has been with Nordea since 2006. Vang-Jensen emphasized that Business Banking is focused on supporting customer growth ambitions by leveraging the Nordic footprint and expertise.
Effective January 1, 2027, Nordea will merge its Group Risk and Group Compliance functions to strengthen coordination and enhance risk oversight through shared technology and data capabilities. Mark Kandborg, the current CRO & Head of Group Risk, will lead the new combined unit. Jamie Graham will step down as Chief Compliance Officer by December 31, 2026, for family reasons and will continue as a senior advisor until March 2027. Nahale Ståhl Hallengren has been appointed as his successor.
