Nordea Bank Abp has appointed Aki Kangasharju as Head of Research and Roger Wessman as Chief Economist in Finland. The appointments strengthen the bank's economic analysis unit.

Nordea Bank Appoints New Head of Research and Chief Economist in Finland

Nordea Bank Abp has made significant personnel changes within its Finnish research and economic analysis unit. Aki Kangasharju, 42, has been appointed as the new Head of Research. He moves to the role from his position as Director General at the Government Institute for Economic Research (VATT), where he previously served as Director of Research.

Roger Wessman, 45, who has held the position of Head of Research at Nordea since 2007, will now serve as Chief Economist. Wessman has extensive experience as an analyst and economist within Nordea since 1993.

Mikko Ayub, Head of Nordea Markets in Finland, commented on the appointments: "The direction of the economy is currently one of the most discussed topics. Nordea has always been actively involved in these discussions and will continue to be so. With these appointments, we ensure that our research team comprises the best competence in the business."

The bank's economic research team also includes other specialists, such as economist Pasi Sorjonen, who focuses on analyzing the Finnish economy.
