Nordea graduate advances to trader role in one year
Nordea Bank's graduate program participant, Matteo Conti, has advanced to a trader position within a year. The bank assigns significant responsibility to its young employees.

Helsinki – Matteo Conti, a participant in Nordea Bank Abp's graduate program, has advanced to an Equity Cash Trading role at Nordea Markets within one year. Conti, 24, initially joined the bank as a student intern in 2018 and transitioned to a full-time position through the program in summer 2019.
The bank emphasizes that its graduate program offers young employees rapid career progression and substantial responsibility. Conti noted that from the outset, he was given responsibilities similar to those of more experienced colleagues, a practice he contrasted with pathways in countries like the US or UK, where such careers can take several years.
Conti began his tenure at Nordea as an intern in the Market Data Control team, where he performed independent price verification for corporate and government bonds. He described the shift from middle-office functions to front-office trading as a more significant change, where daily performance is more clearly demonstrated.
Nordea states that its Markets division is one of the few places globally where an individual can become a professional trader at the age of 24. The fast-paced and professional environment fosters rapid learning and personal as well as professional growth.
