Nordea Bank and Mastercard have launched a new integrated service in Finland that combines mobile payments with the K-group's Plussa customer loyalty program. This feature allows customers to earn and use Plussa points simply by making a mobile payment, eliminating the need for separate physical or digital loyalty cards.
The functionality is built into the digital version of the Nordea Mastercard on mobile wallets. When a customer pays using their mobile device, the Plussa benefits are automatically registered as part of the same transaction. This collaboration with K-group aims to streamline the shopping experience for consumers.
According to Nordea, the development is driven by customer needs and aims to keep the bank at the forefront of payment technology. By allowing customers to pay and manage their loyalty points in one go, the process becomes faster and more convenient. Customers will see a Plussa logo on their digital card to indicate the feature is active.
Mastercard highlighted that this innovation makes digital payments more rewarding and user-friendly. The feature is now available for eligible Nordea Mastercard holders who have added their card to a mobile wallet.
