Despite a challenging market environment characterized by exceptionally low interest rates and geopolitical tensions, Nordea managed to improve its financial performance. The Board of Directors has proposed a dividend of EUR 0.64 per share, an increase from the EUR 0.62 paid for 2014.
The bank also announced the commencement of a three-year transformation agenda aimed at creating a "truly digital bank." This initiative involves significant investments and resulted in a restructuring charge of EUR 263 million during the fourth quarter. The bank expects this transformation to lead to a more efficient structure and reduced administrative complexity.
Nordea's capital position strengthened, with the Common Equity Tier 1 ratio improving to 16.5%. The bank remains committed to enhancing efficiency and simplifying its operations for the benefit of its customers, employees, and investors.
