Helsinki – Nordea Bank Abp reported on July 16, 2026, its half-year financial results, achieving a return on equity of 15.9%. The bank attributed the performance to strong profitability despite ongoing market volatility, partly influenced by the prolonged conflict in the Middle East.
Total income increased by 4% year-on-year, with net fee and commission income rising 11%, driven by growth in savings and investment products. Corporate lending saw a 9% increase, and assets under management surpassed EUR 500 billion.
In addition, Nordea's Board decided to distribute an interim dividend of EUR 0.34 per share for 2026. This payout represents approximately 50% of the group's net profit for the first half of the year. The bank highlighted its strong capital position as supportive of continued lending growth and share buy-backs.
The bank reaffirmed its outlook for 2026, expecting a return on equity above 15% and a cost-to-income ratio between 44–45%. Nordea emphasized its resilient business model and capacity to support customers through economic cycles.
