Nordea Reports Strong Full-Year 2025 Financial Results

Helsinki – Nordea Bank Abp reported strong financial performance for the full year and fourth quarter of 2025. The bank's results were characterized by high profitability, driven by growth in business volumes and reduced costs. For the full year 2025, the return on equity reached 15.5%, marking the third consecutive year that Nordea has exceeded its 15% target.

CEO Frank Vang-Jensen stated that the performance reflects the momentum built since Nordea's strategic reshaping began in autumn 2019, emphasizing a customer-centric approach and improved service. This strategy has led to business growth with both existing and new customers. Customer satisfaction scores have also improved across all four business areas.

The bank highlighted increased efficiency, with the cost-to-income ratio falling to 45 cents from 57 cents since 2019. Profitability has also significantly improved, placing Nordea among Europe's top banks in terms of return on equity. Following the strong 2025 performance, the Board of Directors has proposed a dividend of EUR 0.96 per share.

In the fourth quarter, Nordea observed increased activity among Nordic businesses, with corporate lending growing by 8% year-on-year. Consumer confidence remained subdued, although household activity saw a modest pickup. Savings and investments showed strength, boosting assets under management to a record EUR 478 billion, a 13% increase.
