Nordea Bank Abp has revealed its updated strategic direction and financial objectives through 2030.
The Nordic financial services group outlined its strategy, emphasizing profitable, faster-than-market income growth along with significant improvements in cost efficiency. The bank's priorities for the 2026–30 period include growing faster than the market while maintaining high profitability, leading with a strong customer offering and digital experience, and leveraging Nordic scale for enhanced competitiveness and efficiency.
Technology, data, and artificial intelligence are positioned as core enablers of the strategy, expected to drive better customer experiences, growth, and operational efficiency. President and Group CEO Frank Vang-Jensen stated that Nordea is entering the new strategy period from a position of strength, aiming to be the best-performing financial services group in the Nordics. The strategy will focus on six key growth areas: Norway and Sweden as geographic markets, cross-selling to deepen existing customer relationships, and focusing on the life and pensions, private banking, and small business segments.
The bank plans to further utilize its scale and technology, data, and AI to improve customer service and operational efficiency, particularly in mortgages, corporate lending, savings, and payments. Nordea, as the largest financial services group in the Nordic region, aims to leverage its competitive advantage to achieve sustained high performance.
