Nordic Mining ASA: EPC Contractor Initiates Legal Proceedings

Nordic Mining ASA has been notified that its EPC contractor, Nordic Bulk AS, has initiated legal proceedings against Nordic Mining's subsidiary Engebø Rutile and Garnet AS (ERG). Nordic Bulk AS is claiming approximately NOK 50 million (approximately EUR 4.5 million) in payments under the EPC contract for the Engebø Rutile and Garnet project.
ERG rejects the claim, stating it is partially unsubstantiated. ERG has also withheld payments under the EPC contract pending Nordic Bulk's rectification of defects. The company has not specified the nature of these defects.
Nordic Mining stated that the legal proceedings will not affect operations at the Engebø project. The project is significant for Nordic Mining's business, aiming to produce rutile and garnet.
This legal dispute could potentially impact the project's timeline and costs if it proceeds. Nordic Mining has previously faced challenges with the project's financing and permitting as it works towards commencing operations at Engebø.
