IT service company Nordlo has had its ambitious climate targets validated and approved by the "Science Based Targets initiative" (SBTi). The company is committing to significant emissions reductions, aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2040.
SBTi is a global initiative, supported by organizations including the UN Global Compact and WWF, aimed at helping companies reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. Nordlo's targets have been validated as science-based.
The company has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 75 percent by 2030. Concurrently, Scope 3 emissions are targeted for a 25 percent reduction. By 2040, Nordlo aims for a 90 percent reduction across all emission scopes (Scope 1, 2, and 3).
Nordlo emphasizes the crucial role of technology and IT services in the sustainability efforts of both its clients and its own operations. The company states that the increasing volume of data and technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence, necessitate more efficient and circular operational practices to achieve climate goals. Nordlo plans to collaborate closely with its customers and suppliers to drive these emission reductions.
