Nordnet reports September statistics: customer base grows, net savings decline

Nordnet's customer base increased by 12,800 in September, but net savings were negative for the month. Trading volumes decreased compared to August and the previous year.

Nordnet reports September statistics: customer base grows, net savings decline

Stockholm – Digital savings and investment platform Nordnet reported in its September 2022 statistics that its customer base grew to 1,677,500 customers. The net increase in customers during the month was 12,800. Since the beginning of the year, 76,500 new customers have been added on a net basis.

In contrast, net savings for the month were negative, amounting to SEK -0.7 billion. The total savings capital decreased by 7.2 percent from August, standing at SEK 680 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the savings capital was SEK 728 billion. Total lending saw a slight increase from the previous month and year, reaching SEK 26.3 billion.

Trading activity decreased in September by 8.4 percent compared to August. The total number of trades was 4.46 million, down from 4.87 million in August. Compared to September of the previous year, the number of trades fell by 18.2 percent.

During periods of low market volatility, such as September 2022, trading activity typically moderates. Nordnet's customers' average daily number of trades decreased by 4.2 percent in September compared to August. Year-on-year, this figure saw a reduction of 18.2 percent.
