Nordnet Survey: Global Uncertainty Leads Investors to Lengthen Time Horizons
A new Nordnet investment survey indicates Danish retail investors are extending their investment time horizons and favouring European stocks in response to global uncertainty.

Global market uncertainty has prompted Danish retail investors to extend their investment time horizons and shift preference from US to European stocks, according to Nordnet's latest annual investment survey.
The survey data reveals that half of Danish investors now use an investment horizon exceeding 10 years, up from 40 percent last year. This longer-term perspective may prove a beneficial strategy amidst market volatility, with Nordnet's investment economist Per Hansen suggesting that extended horizons could yield slightly higher expected returns to compensate for increased risk.
Hansen cautioned, however, against expecting annual returns of 10-15 percent, noting that global markets are currently at a high level. The 2026 survey, which polled 6,875 Nordnet customers, also explored investor views on technology, market psychology, and investment strategies.
Further insights from the study include investor sentiment towards artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, for investment advice, and attitudes towards financial influencers and rapid market movements.
