NORMA Adds Nutri-Score Labeling to Bio Sonne Products
Food discounter NORMA is beginning to apply the Nutri-Score label to its own Bio Sonne products. The company aims to provide customers with clearer information about product nutritional values.
Nuremberg, Germany – Food discounter NORMA has started labeling its own Bio Sonne products with the new Nutri-Score nutritional information system. The initiative aims to offer customers clearer insights into the nutritional content of products and encourage healthier dietary choices.
The Nutri-Score is a European system that classifies food products into five categories, ranging from dark green A for the best nutritional value to red E for the least favorable. The system is designed to assist consumers in making more informed purchasing decisions.
Initially, the labeling will be applied to six varieties of Bio Sonne organic muesli, available in all NORMA stores across Germany. Five of these varieties receive the top A rating, while the chocolate muesli is classified as C. All mentioned muesli varieties also received the DLG Gold award in 2020.
NORMA is among the first retailers to implement Nutri-Score on its private label products in Germany. The official timeline for the introduction of this labeling system is set for autumn 2020. NORMA's early adoption demonstrates its strategy to enhance product transparency and clarity of information.
