NORMA builds new headquarters in Fürth
The food discounter NORMA celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its new administrative building complex in Fürth. The new building is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2016.

Food discounter NORMA is constructing a new headquarters in Fürth, Germany. The company celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its new administrative building complex on September 30, 2015, just six months after construction began. The new building is slated for completion by July 2016.
The new headquarters will consolidate all administrative departments, including the executive board, management, purchasing, and controlling, under one roof. Previously, these departments were located in separate facilities. This investment signifies NORMA's commitment to continued growth and its future presence in Fürth.
The building complex is situated on a 21,500-square-meter site in the Hardhöhe West industrial area. The facility will offer over 9,000 square meters of office and storage space across four floors, with the potential for further expansion. The site also includes a basement and approximately 250 parking spaces. The new 143-meter-long and 14-meter-wide headquarters will accommodate 280 employees. Its location is adjacent to NORMA's Fürth logistics center, which serves over 500 stores in Bavaria.
The new building incorporates modern energy efficiency and environmental protection standards. Through enhanced external wall insulation and energy-saving windows and doors, the structure will exceed the requirements of the German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) by 20 percent. Energy will be supplied by the photovoltaic system of the adjacent logistics center. The building utilizes energy-saving LED lighting throughout, and air-to-water heat pumps handle heating and cooling. A heat recovery process will be implemented to reuse waste heat. The data center will use water-based cooling, eliminating the need for fluorinated refrigerants.
NORMA operates over 1,400 stores in Germany, Austria, France, and the Czech Republic.
