North Carolina Small Business Center Network Names 'Startup Showdown' Winners

The North Carolina Small Business Center Network (SBCN) has announced the winners of its first annual 'Startup Showdown' competition, distributing $60,000 in funding to nascent businesses. The competition, part of a statewide effort to foster entrepreneurship, is supported by the N.C. Community College System.

Over 300 applications were received from across North Carolina, with 17 finalists selected to present their business plans and innovations to a panel of judges. The SBCN aims to stimulate economic growth within the state by providing resources and capital to new ventures.
