Northern Ireland Schools Roll Out New Digital Management System
The Education Authority (EA) in Northern Ireland is implementing Bromcom's new School Management System (SMS) to enhance data handling and communication. The full transition for all schools is expected to be completed by March 2027.

The Education Authority (EA) in Northern Ireland has begun rolling out a new digital School Management System (SMS) across its schools. The system, a collaboration between EA and Bromcom, aims to improve how schools manage information, communicate with families, and reduce administrative tasks.
The phased implementation, part of EA's Education Information Solutions (EdIS) program, is intended to be fully completed by March 2027. The SMS was co-designed with schools to ensure it meets the specific needs of teachers, parents, and pupils within the region.
Bromcom's SMS offers benefits such as real-time access to student data, streamlined attendance tracking, and easier management of assessments for school staff. A dedicated 'My Child at School' app provides parents with direct communication channels. The system also features enhanced absence tracking to flag unexplained absences, thereby supporting pupil welfare.
This digital initiative is expected to improve operational efficiency for schools and contribute to better educational outcomes for students across Northern Ireland. Initial feedback from pilot schools has highlighted the system's ease of use and the advantages of having immediate access to reliable data.
